International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June to promote Yoga and endeavour towards making it a part and parcel of everyone’s daily routine. The programme began by lighting the lamp and paying floral tributes to yoga Guru Sri Patanjali.
The school choir sang the ‘Yoga geet’. Yoga practitioner Smt P.Sridevi briefed the students about Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, the eight-fold path called Ashtanga. She also demonstrated various yoga postures and explained the correct way of doing asanas. The programme concluded with meditation and chanting of mantras. Principal Mrs. Visalakshi addressed the students and motivated them to make Yoga a part and parcel of their daily routine.
