Hindi Diwas Celebrations

Hindi Diwas is celebrated on September 14 every year to commemorate the adoption of Hindi as one of the official languages of India. This significant event took place in 1949 when the Constituent Assembly of India declared Hindi, written in the Devanagari script, as the official language. The choice of this date also marks the birth anniversary of Beohar Rajendra Simha, a prominent advocate for the Hindi language. The decision to celebrate Hindi Diwas was influenced by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who recognized the importance of promoting Hindi as a unifying language in a diverse nation.

Every year, Margdarshini, the Hindi Club of Little Angels School, hosts an annual celebration to commemorate Hindi Diwas. This event is highly anticipated by both students and teachers, who begin preparations well in advance.

Pakwada, a 15-day program leading up to Hindi Diwas, is celebrated from 3rd September to 12th September. Pakwada aimed at promoting the Hindi language and its cultural significance. This initiative includes a variety of engaging activities performed by students across different classes, in the special assembly conducted during the pakwada. These activities not only enhance students' language skills but also foster a sense of pride and appreciation for Hindi, culminating in the grand celebration of Hindi Diwas.

This event was graced by the presence of Headmistress Mrs. Y. Rama Devi, who represented the management during the event. The celebration was attended by enthusiastic parents of the prize winners and participants, who supported their children in various competitions and performances.

The program commenced with a welcome speech delivered by the students. Students from classes 1 to 10 showcased a variety of performances highlighting the importance of the Hindi language. Sanskrit shlokas were recited by students of class 4,5 to invoke the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, revered as the goddess of knowledge. Floral tributes were offered to her. Students from classes 8 to 10 presented a heartfelt prayer song, seeking divine blessings for the day's activities. Lighting the lamp also took place during this segment to symbolize knowledge and enlightenment.

Headmistress Mrs. Y. Rama Devi addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of the Hindi language in fostering unity and cultural identity among students. She highlighted how Hindi serves as a medium of expression for many and plays a crucial role in connecting people.

The program featured a variety of performances that showcased the students' talents and their appreciation for the Hindi language. Classes 4 and 5 highlighted the importance of Hindi through speeches that articulated its cultural and social significance. A video presentation titled "Hindi Language and Us" illustrated how Hindi unites diverse regions of India and its impact on people's lives. The students from classes 1, 2, and 3 captivated the audience with a vibrant dance performance, showcasing their enthusiasm and talent. Classes 4 and 5 further entertained everyone with a medley of popular Hindi songs along with the performances of Chota Bheem and Doraemon.

The students of classes 6 to 10 performed a Nukkad Natak (street play) that addressed social issues while promoting the use of Hindi in daily life. Classes 6 and 7 presented a Pouranik Natak based on the epic Ramayana, demonstrating their acting skills and deep understanding of Indian mythology.

Additionally, a student from class 9 performed a mono act play that showcased her versatility and creativity.

The Margdarshini club organized various competitions for students as part of the Hindi Diwas celebrations, fostering a spirit of enthusiasm and creativity among participants. These competitions allowed students to showcase their talents and express their appreciation for the Hindi language. Winners of these competitions were recognized for their outstanding performances during the event at a prize distribution ceremony, celebrating their hard work and dedication.

The program was executed smoothly under the guidance of the Hindi teachers, who played a crucial role in organizing and facilitating these activities, ensuring that the celebrations were educational and enjoyable for everyone involved.

The event concluded with students from classes 6 and 7 delivering a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, teachers, and organizers for making the Hindi Diwas celebrations a memorable success.
