To commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary physician Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy, National Doctors’ Day is celebrated in our school premises on
01-07-2024.
The day started with a special assembly wherein the students of primary classes dressed up as doctors and gave health tips. Dr.S.V.A.S Raju Kakarlapudi, a renowned paediatrician was the guest doctor on the day.
He addressed the students of classes 9 & 10 and conducted a session on the topic-‘Healthy Lifestyle modifications for adolescents’. The doctor’s insightful talk provided students with practical tips on maintaining a healthy diet, the benefits of exercise and strategies to manage stress effectively. The session was highly interactive and students participated enthusiastically, clarifying their doubts.
Principal Smt.Visalakshi felicitated the doctor and addressed the gathering, speaking on the importance of the day. She emphasized the significance of adopting healthy habits during their formative years. She also motivated the students to take inspiration from the unwavering dedication of the doctors and strive to bring the same level of passion and commitment to their own endeavours.
To foster a deeper appreciation for doctors and their invaluable services, students of class 10 visited Visakha Steel General Hospital, Ukkunagaram and presented rose saplings to the senior doctors Dr A P Naveen Kumar (HOD) and Dr Narayana Swami, GM(Medical). The doctors appreciated the school management and students for taking the initiative to greet doctors.
As a part of the celebrations, various classroom activities were also conducted for the students of classes 1 to 10.
Students of primary classes enacted as doctors and prepared thank you cards to express their gratitude towards doctors for their hard work and dedication.
Students of classes 6&7 wrote short stories imagining a day in their life as a doctor and students of classes 8 to 10 wrote essays on the impact of doctors on the society.
The celebrations not only honoured the contributions of the doctors to the society but also inspired many students to consider pursuing careers in the medical field motivated by the stories and experiences shared throughout the day.
