NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK

The school celebrated “National Library Week” from 15th November to 20th November 2023 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The National Library Week celebrations highlight the valuable role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. The celebration is a boost to promote the reading habit among the students.

 As a part of the celebrations, various competitions and book reviews were conducted for the students. On 15th and 16thNovember a book exhibition was held in the library, wherein books related to all subjects including reference books and encyclopaedias were exhibited. The students of classes 6 to 10 visited the library and browsed the books. For the students of classes 4 to 8 ‘Scabble Board’ competition was conducted for the winners of the first round on 18th of November. Scabble is a good way to improve vocabulary. For classes 9 and 10 ‘Designing Library Logo’ competition was conducted. Creative and Amazing library logos were designed by the students.

 The National Library Week Celebrations concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony on 20th November. An article highlighting the importance of Libraries and reading was presented. A character parade of ‘Avengers’- such as Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider Man, Ant Man were wonderfully displayed by the students of the primary wing. Avengers are fictional super heroes endowed with a gift of fore knowledge of the dangers coming their way and fight as a team to stop the aliens. Each one of them delivered their dialogues and enacted with lots of confidence. The most attractive part of the ceremony was the Character Parade of the Disney Princesses. The Disney Princesses are inspiring and entertaining people who are very quotable with their spirited speeches and memorable songs.  Over the years these Disney Princesses serve as role models to every growing chid.

 Students also exhibited role-plays of ‘Sudha Murthy’ as a motivational speaker, Anne Besant, Sarojini Naidu, Indira Gandhi and News Readers. As a token of reward books and badges were awarded to the best readers. Badges were awarded to the winners of the competitions. The prizes were awarded by Principal Smt. Visalakshi and Head Mistress Smt. Arundhati.

 Principal Smt. Visalakshi congratulated all the participants for their wonderful presentation and advised the students to make the best use of the library to enhance their knowledge and work on their interest.
