VANAMAHOTSAVA – GROWING A GREENER TOMORROW
‘Every sapling we plant today is a promise to tomorrow.’
Little Angels School celebrated Vanamahotsava – the Festival of Trees with great enthusiasm, creativity and a deep sense of responsibility towards Mother Nature. The celebration aimed to inspire young minds to understand the importance of trees and develop a lifelong love for the environment.
Day - 1: (02.07.2026): Green Badge Event
As part of the Vanamahotsava celebrations, a special Green Badge Event was organised to spread awareness about the importance of trees and environmental protection.
Students of classes 1to10 made and proudly wore green badges carrying meaningful messages such as ‘Save Trees,’ ‘Go Green’ and ‘Plant Today, Breathe Tomorrow.’ The activity created a cheerful green atmosphere and encouraged children to become young guardians of nature.
Through this simple yet meaningful initiative, students understood that protecting nature begins with small actions. The event beautifully reflected the spirit of Vanamahotsava and inspired everyone to contribute towards a greener, cleaner and healthier Earth.
Day - 2: (03.07.2026)
The school campus came alive with vibrant green-themed activities. Our young learners of classes 1to 3 enthusiastically participated in creative role plays as flowers, fruits and animals, beautifully portraying the wonderful diversity of nature and the importance of every living being in our ecosystem.
Students of classes 4 & 5 also took part in an engaging elocution activity on medicinal plants. Through their confident presentations, they shared interesting facts about the healing treasures provided by nature and highlighted the need to preserve our valuable plant resources.
As part of the school’s environmental awareness initiatives, elocution on ‘How Can Students Become Green Ambassadors?’ was conducted with great enthusiasm. Students of classes 6 to 8 spoke confidently about the importance of protecting nature and shared simple ways to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
The students highlighted actions such as planting and caring for trees, saving water and electricity, reducing plastic use, keeping the surroundings clean and encouraging others to protect nature. Their thoughtful speeches reflected their understanding of environmental responsibility.
The programme inspired students to become responsible Green Ambassadors who can lead by example and motivate others to care for our planet. The event concluded with a message that small actions by young minds can create a greener and healthier future.
A thought-provoking Debate on ‘Economic Growth and Environmental Growth’ was conducted at Little Angels School to create awareness among students about the need to balance development with environmental protection.
Students of classes 9 & 10 actively participated in the debate, presenting their views on how economic development can improve people’s lives while also discussing its impact on nature. They highlighted the importance of sustainable development, responsible use of natural resources, renewable energy, pollution control and protection of forests and biodiversity.
The debate encouraged students to think critically about whether economic progress and environmental conservation can go hand in hand. The programme concluded with the message that true progress is achieved when economic development and environmental well-being grow together for a sustainable future.
Day - 3: (04.07.2026): GREEN DONOR DAY
Sapling Donation – A Gift to Nature
A special highlight of the celebration was the sapling donation initiative. Students of classes 1-10 and their parents contributed saplings, turning the celebration into a meaningful act of environmental responsibility. The donated saplings represented a shared commitment to creating a greener and healthier future.
The saplings were planted and nurtured with care, teaching our children that environmental responsibility does not end with planting a tree—it begins there. Each little plant became a symbol of hope, growth and a greener tomorrow. Through Vanamahotsava Celebrations, our students learnt that protecting nature begins with simple actions—planting trees, nurturing saplings, protecting greenery and inspiring others to care for our planet.
The celebration concluded with a beautiful message of environmental responsibility and hope. At Little Angels, we believe that when children learn to care for a plant, they learn to care for the world around them.
