CAREER COUNSELLING PROGRAMME ON SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
A career counselling programme for the students of Classes 8, 9, and 10 was conducted in the school library on 18.07.2026 on the topic ‘Opportunities for Students in Scientific Research.’ The session was led by Dr. P. Swarnalatha, M.Sc., Ph.D., Scientist-B, Multidisciplinary Unit, Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the diverse career opportunities in the field of scientific research. Dr.Swarnalatha explained the importance of curiosity, critical thinking, scientific temperament, innovation and perseverance in building a successful career in science. She highlighted the various research fields available in medicine, biotechnology, microbiology, genetics, public health and other interdisciplinary sciences.
The interactive session included real-life examples from her research experience and provided valuable insights into the role of scientists in improving healthcare and advancing scientific knowledge. Students actively participated by asking questions about educational qualifications, research opportunities, career prospects, scholarships and the skills required to become successful scientists.
Headmistress Mrs. Arundhati mam addressed the gathering and encouraged students to develop a scientific mindset, remain curious and pursue their interests with dedication. She emphasized the importance of discipline, continuous learning and hard work in achieving success in scientific research. She also appreciated the initiative of organizing such career guidance programmes to inspire students and help them make informed career choices.
