MAKING OF ECO FRIENDLY GANESH IDOLS & GREEN GANESH CHATHURTHI

MAKING OF ECO FRIENDLY  GANESH IDOLS ON 30.08.2019:

Activity – 1   Students of NGC took an active role in creating awareness about hazards of using plaster of  paris used for preparing Ganesh idols.

Activity – 2   They  also pledged not to use plaster of paris  and to educate people and promote ecofriendly Ganesha.

Activity – 3  In collaboration with Green climate group,  NGC  and Science club students enthusiastically participated in preparing clay idols by inserting custard apple seed while preparing the mould.

It is a good practise to make idols from clay alone, as it will not to pollute water bodies. When we immerse this clay idol in a pot / garden, after some days germination of the  plants ( which are getting endangered  & extinct) will start which is a part of contributing green wealth to our society.

GANESH CHATHURTHI – CELEBRATIONS:

The idea behind this event was to bring awareness among people celebrating the festival with a   message of keeping the environment safe. This will help the younger generation to become a part of creating a sustainable world.

NGC has taken up this Green Ganesha message to save water, which is being contaminated due to our imprudent behaviour. This will also expose students to ecological concerns & awareness in terms of marine pollution. It teaches us the core value of social responsibility towards our natural resources.

21 leaves used for pooja of Lord Ganesha ( Eka Vimsanthi pooja) their names and significance was read out to create awareness about the medicinal values of different plants.

Teachers thanked the Management for giving an opportunity to partake in today’s Ganesh pooja.
