VISIT TO SRIHARIKOTA[ISRO] BY CLASS 10 STUDENTS-2019


Sriharikota is a barrier island off the BAY OF BENGAL coast,located in the NELLORE district of ANDHRA PRADESH,INDIA. It houses the Satish Dhawan Space Centre , SHAR

Little Angels team,consisting of 24 students and 3 escort teachers,boarded  the train from visakhapatanam on 04 sep 2019.The team reached the destination safely,the students were excited and enthusiastic about the visit to various places around Nellore.

On 5th september2019,after breakfast our team proceeded to sightseeing places in and around Nellore.The students were amazed to see the famous Kamakshi temple, Andhra Pradesh windmill Project at Narasimha hill. The windmill project has enhanced their knowledge regarding conservation of energy and alternative sources of energy. After lunch we proceeded to Penchalakona Wild Life Sanctuary, which is between Nallamalla forest and Sesachala forest. Students enjoyed  the beauty of nature ,they had an adventurous trekking trip for about 3kms .Students had fun walking into the valley , had interaction with natural environment and enjoyed the cool fresh breeze. The day was wonderful with memories.   The much awaited day was 06 sep 2019,for the visit to Sriharikota. Students reached Sriharikota at 9 a.m. ,after security check they were directed to the  the library block to view a short film in the auditorium about the rocket launching station,Sriharikota.   It was wonderful and informative. Later, they visited the launching pad of recent Chandrayaan- 2, the first launching pad ,mission control center[MCC]  and the space museum.

A detailed explanation was provided by the guide to the students. The students were inspired, and were filled with scientific temperament. They were found discussing about the various aspects of space museum during lunch time.

The space museum which houses the models of previously launch rockets provided great  knowledge about ISRO, Space launching technology, scientific astronaut training and basics of space education.

Apart from education, students have also learnt and showcased their qualities of discipline, moral value, sharing, mingling and interacting with other school students during the trip. We reached Visakhapatnam on 07.09.2019 at 11:00 am with full of knowledge, wonderful experience and memories of space science. On the whole, the trip was devotional, scientific and adventurous. The team could make best use of the time and opportunity provided by the management of Little Angels School.
