Eco-Friendly Ganesha Idol Making Workshop

                                 Go Green, Breathe Clean !

This is the slogan chosen for Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations.

Eco friendly celebrations bring joy to our hearts and leave no harm to our planet. In order to promote the usage of eco-friendly idols for a safer environment, every year a workshop on “Making Eco-friendly Ganesha Idols” is conducted in the school.

This year also, as a part of Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations, an awareness session followed by a workshop on making clay idols of Ganesha was organised by the Science Department.

The awareness programme was conducted by the NGO Green Climate led by Mr. J.V.Ratnam and his team. The programme was conducted on 14th September 2023 in the school premises between 2:30 pm to 3:15 pm. Around 50 students from classes 6 to 10 enthusiastically participated and made clay idols of Lord Ganesha. Students have exhibited their creative skills to create the clay Ganesha idols which were later kept for display.

The objective of the workshop is to instill a sense of environmental responsibility among students and educate them to celebrate the festival in a sustainable manner and avoid harming the environment by using idols made of plaster of paris. Students were told to adopt more eco-friendly practices, such as making their own idols using mud clay, turmeric, or flour.
