Sankranti and Bihu Celebrations


Today, the young Angelites embarked on a cultural exploration, immersing themselves in the authentic essence of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. The lively beats of Bihu and the vibrant hues of Sankranti illuminated their journey, fostering a deep appreciation for the diverse cultural fabric that binds our nation together.

On a vibrant day at our school, the air was filled with festive and fervour, as the students of classes LKG to 9 joyously celebrated the cultural richness of Assam and Andhra Pradesh through the grand festivities of Bihu and Pongal.

The celebration commenced with a warm welcome that resonated with traditional hospitality, embracing the essence of both states. The entire school came together for a heartfelt prayer, invoking blessings for prosperity and abundance, tailored to the distinct cultural flavours of Andhra Pradesh and Assam.

The stage was set up with colourful kites, toys -'Bommala Koluvu' and also with traditional sarees and dresses from Andhra Pradesh and Assam. The delicacies of both the states like Bobbatlu, Pulihora ,Chakari Pongal, Kajjikayalu, Jantikalu from Andhra Pradesh and Sesame Laddoo, Coconut Laddoo, Tel Pitha , Jolpan etc. from Assam were exhibited. The 'Bhogi Pallu' ritual was performed to the little kids of kindergarten by the Directors and Academic Heads.

The Sankranti-themed songs filled the air, capturing the essence of the harvest festival with melodic rhythms and resonant lyrics. A captivating Kuchipudi dance performance showcased the grace and beauty of Andhra's classical dance form, leaving the audience spellbound.

The highlight of the event was an enlightening article and a thought-provoking skit shedding light on the indispensable role of farmers in Assam and Andhra Pradesh.  A mesmerizing fusion dance seamlessly blended the traditional dance forms of Andhra and Assam, creating a harmonious spectacle that reflected the unity in diversity.

As the festivities reached their pinnacle, a heartfelt vote of thanks by young and dynamic Directors and Academic Heads expressed Sankranti greetings and gratitude to all participants, organizers, and attendees for contributing to the success of the cultural extravaganza.

The event not only celebrated the spirit of Bihu and Sankranti but also fostered cultural understanding and appreciation among the students, creating lasting memories of unity in diversity - Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
