Library Week Celebrations 2017


Our school celebrated National Library Week from November 14th to November 20th 2017. A book fair was organized by PAGES & JYOTHI BOOK DEPOT on the 15th & 16th of November, displaying a wide range of books of all categories.The fair was inaugurated by P.Lohit of 7F. The parents and the students visited the fair in large numbers. A Lucky dip draw was taken on the last day of the fair, the winners ‘C Mahesh of 6C and Lakshya Gayatri of 8D’ were presented with books. As a part of the week celebrations, various competitions like designing a bookmark, written quiz, book review, advertising a book, writing about an author work, writing about their favourite character were conducted for students of classes 4th to 10th. On the valedictory function all the competition winners were awarded prizes by the School Founder and the heads of the school. Students presented a dialogue conversation of famous characters like Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, Birbal, Alice in wonderland and Dracula. It was a humorous and an entertaining act. Vaishali Warrior of class 10th recited a Shakespearian sonnet. Many of the students who are regular readers spoke about their experience about the school library and the books that changed their life. Speaking on the occasion the school Founder told the students about the importance of library and books. He further shared his experience of setting up such a wonderful library which can be accessed by the students. He stressed on the importance of self-help books and how cultivating a habit of regular reading helps one build up a strong persona. He said he was happy that students are utilizing the library facility very well. He wanted more students to come forward to read good books which will influence them and motivate them to do much better.
