National Reading Day Celebration

Windows to the world and reading opens countless opportunities for growth

Little Angels School celebrated National Reading Day on 19th June 2025 with a special assembly held in honour of P.N. Panicker, the father of India’s Library Movement. He was not only instrumental in setting up libraries but also led a cultural movement that promoted reading as a way of life.

The celebration began with a prayer song by the school choir, seeking God’s blessings. Students presented thoughtful articles on Reading Day, the benefits of reading, and a life sketch of P.N. Panicker. A special reading pledge was also taken, reinforcing the importance of cultivating regular reading habits.

Our Founder and Chairman, Sri Venumohan Sir, addressed the gathering and inspired the students by highlighting how reading enhances language and comprehension skills, broadens one’s perspective, and nurtures empathy. He also paid tribute to P.N. Panicker’s contributions and encouraged students to make the best use of the school library as a vibrant space for knowledge, creativity, and imagination.

The programme was graced by Principal Mrs. Indu Malini and Headmistress Mrs. Y. Rama Devi, and concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of the management, academic heads, teachers, staff, and students who made the event meaningful and memorable.

Various classroom activities were also conducted for different classes like Eco Reading, Reading Marathon, Paired Reading, Read and Retell and Silent Reading by the language teachers and library teachers. Children participated very enthusiastically and had a fruitful learning experience.
