Income Tax Awareness Programme
Celebrating 165 Years of Service – Income Tax Day, 24th July 2025

“The hardest thing in the world to understand is income tax.” – Albert Einstein
Paying tax is not a punishment but a moral and legal responsibility of every responsible citizen.

On the occasion of Income Tax Day (24th July 2025), an Awareness Programme was conducted at our school by the Income Tax Department, commemorating the 165th anniversary of the department's establishment.

The session was graced by distinguished guests from the department:

Mr. Krishna Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax Mr. Anirudh, Income Tax Officer Mr. Kishore, Income Tax Inspector

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Ramalakshmi, followed by the presentation of bouquets to the dignitaries by  Principal Ma’am Mrs. Indu Malini.

Students of Class 10 attended the session, where Mr. Anirudh delivered an engaging PowerPoint presentation explaining the importance of paying taxes and the process involved. He also led the students in a pledge, reinforcing their sense of civic duty.

A well-curated documentary highlighting the achievements, roles, and responsibilities of the Income Tax Department was screened. It proved to be highly informative and eye-opening for the students.

An oral quiz based on the session was conducted, and four students who gave the best answers were awarded participation certificates by the officials. During the interactive session, several students asked insightful questions, to which the Deputy Commissioner responded with clarity and appreciation, commending their curiosity and awareness.

To mark the occasion meaningfully, saplings were planted in the school premises by the dignitaries along with members of the Student Council, symbolizing growth and responsibility. These saplings were generously sponsored by the Income Tax Department.

In a gesture to promote knowledge and reading habits, the officials also donated books to the school library.

The event concluded with a powerful message:
“Be a proud payer of tax – together, we strengthen the nation.”
