On 29th August, Little Angels School celebrated ‘Telugu Bhasha Dinotstavam’, ’National Sports Day’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ with great zeal and enthusiasm.
A special assembly programme was organized by the Telugu Club ‘Saraswatha Parishath’ to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sri Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy who strived for the development and for popularizing the Telugu language. Students dressed in traditional attire recited poems and sang songs describing the glory of Telugu language. An article was presented on the contributions of Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy to Telugu language. As a part of Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam, various competitions were conducted by the Telugu Club. Prizes were given to the winners.
The 29th of August is also celebrated as National Sports Day to honour the birth anniversary of the legendary Hockey player ‘Dhyan Chand’. An article was presented in the school assembly highlighting the significance of celebrating National Sports Day. Various sports competitions such as Kho-Kho, Basketball, Volley ball and throw ball were conducted as a part of National Sports Day celebrations.
Principal Smt. Visalakshi inspired the students with her motivational speech. She recalled the contributions made by Shri Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy to develop Telugu language. She advised the students not to neglect their mother tongue while learning other languages. On speaking about the National Sports Day, she once again reiterated the benefits of sports for students. She motivated students to take active part in sports and games which help them to enhance and channelize their energy levels.
Little Angels School also celebrated ‘Raksha Bandhan’ a day ahead of the actual event (30th August). The programme emphasized the message of spreading love and good will affection. Girls fondly tied ‘Rakhi’ to their brothers bringing the programme to a happy end.
