“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”-
Bhagavad Gita
The serene morning of 20.06.2025 witnessed the vibrant celebration of International Yoga Day at Little Angels School, Ukkunagaram, where students and teachers gathered to embrace the ancient Indian discipline of yoga- a practise that nurtures the mind, body and soul.
The event commenced with a thoughtful introduction by Roshitha of 10B, who shared insights into the origin and significance of yoga. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to the portrait of Maharishi Patanjali, the Father of Modern Yoga.
The yoga session that followed was conducted by Mrs. Vamsi Priyanka, PET and Yoga instructor of our school. It included a series of warm up exercises, loosening exercises, standing and sitting asanas and pranayama. Each posture was demonstrated with clarity allowing the participants to experience the harmony of movement and breath. The session culminated with a short period of relaxation and meditation, fostering a sense of inner calm and focus.
The celebration left a lasting impression on everyone present. It reminded all that yoga is not merely an activity for a day, but a life - long commitment to wellness and peace.
The celebration echoed the timeless message of Yoga to live in harmony with oneself and the world.
