FIELD TRIP TO SAILENDRA POULTRY FARM

A field trip to a poultry farm can offer a wide range of practical knowledge and real-world learning experience to students. Students of classes 9 & 10 have visited Sailendra Poultry Farm, Despatrunipalem, as a part of field trip on 14/07/25 & 15/07/25. The poultry farm is run by the Ex-student of our school Veerendra Reddy.

Children have gained knowledge on various aspects like:

Life cycle of birds from hatching to adulthood.  Understanding different types of chicken (boilers Vs layers).  What poultry eat and how diet affects health and productivity.  Egg laying process and incubation.  Feeding and watering techniques: automatic and manual systems.  Hygiene practices to prevent disease. Use of droppings as manure or biogas.  Commercial poultry farming: Egg and meat production.  Entrepreneurship: how poultry farming can be a business venture.  Vaccination, disease control, veterinary roles.  Risks of diseases transferring from birds to humans.  Eco-friendly practices and impact on the environment.

He took keen interest in showing the farm to our students and patiently explained in detail the process involved in maintaining the poultry farms.
