Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in our school premises, spreading the message of faith, culture, and sustainability.
The celebration began with the chanting of slokas followed by a melodious prayer song by the school choir, invoking the divine blessings of Lord Ganesha. The cultural programme commenced with an energetic dance performance by the evening dance class students, filling the atmosphere with festive cheer, followed by a soulful Hindi song in praise of the remover of obstacles.
As part of the assembly programme, members of the Little Greens Club presented a meaningful conversation, highlighting the importance of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly manner. A unique demonstration on the preparation and immersion of Ganesh idols in an environmentally safe way was performed, inspiring everyone to celebrate while safeguarding nature.
To reinforce this green message, the Little Greens Club members prepared and distributed eco-friendly clay idols of Lord Ganesha to the officials of the Agro Forestry Department and the Town Administration Department of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. This thoughtful gesture symbolized the shared responsibility of protecting the environment and promoting sustainable traditions.
Adding to the spirit of the festival, students of Classes 4 to 10 actively participated in a hands-on classroom activity, where they crafted Ganesh idols using biodegradable materials. This activity not only encouraged creativity but also instilled the value of eco-conscious celebrations. Students joyfully pledged to adopt eco-friendly practices and become responsible guardians of Mother Earth.
The celebrations beautifully reflected the essence of Ganesh Chaturthi – devotion, unity, cultural pride, and environmental care. They also reminded us of the vision of Lord Ganesha, who teaches wisdom, patience, and the importance of walking on the path of righteousness.
